Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright)

Location: Etobicoke, ON

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary Range: $33.50 - $42.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls.
• Inspect machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions; adjust, repair, or replace defective parts.
• Utilize machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricate necessary parts.
• Assemble machinery and equipment using hand and power tools, and welding equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment, with knowledge of electrical systems.
• Optimize equipment safety, efficiency, and reliability; participate in continuous improvement projects.

Experience

• 2-5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in mechanics, machine shop practices, and pneumatic/hydraulic fields.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable with computer use.
• Ability to work well independently and within a team.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Certificates & Licenses

• Willingness to obtain Red Seal Millwright License - Industrial Millwright 433A.
