Parts Technician/GET Specialist (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Edmonton, AB

Company Overview: 

Sureway Construction, one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years of experience, is actively seeking a dedicated Parts Technician/GET Specialist for Heavy Equipment. Sureway is involved in civil earthworks, grading, utilities, offsite construction, mine operation, and aggregate extraction.

Work Schedule:

• Full Time, Permanent
• 10+ Hours/day, Saturdays and Sundays as required
• Schedule as per Operational Requirements
• Overtime after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Pre-employment Requirements:

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel-toed boots with 6” ankle support
• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
• Fitness to Work Assessment
• Mask Fit Testing

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely fulfillment of orders using electronic order systems.
• Ensure cost efficiency when filling orders.
• Research, identify, and communicate cost savings.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels in the parts department.
• Assist Field Technicians with part requests.
• Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program.

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson and Apprentices will be considered.

• Apprentices must be in good standing with AIT.

Experience

• 4-5 years of experience with ground engaging tools.
• Prior CAT - SIS experience is a strong asset.
  
• Prior Komatsu experience is beneficial.

• Prior experience working as a Journeyperson Mechanic or mechanical background is a strong asset.

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with Toolhound is an asset.
• Familiarity with Hydraulic Hose Assembly is an asset.
• GET/Undercarriage knowledge is an asset.
