Mechanical Engineer

Location: Calgary, AB

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: DOE

Responsibilities:

• Participate in conceptual proposal and execution phases, collaborating with project stakeholders to provide design concepts, layouts, and equipment sizing.
• Stay current with applicable technologies, standards, products, and regulations, ensuring compliance with CSA, ASME, and other relevant design codes.
• Prepare system and component designs considering site conditions, process requirements, costs, and regulatory standards.
• Work with the design team to produce detailed design drawings and reports meeting client requirements.
• Develop drawings and ensure a high-quality product, sealing drawings when required by jurisdiction.
• Visit worksites to inspect work, commission equipment, process controls, and train operators.
• Make ongoing design changes as required throughout the project.

Education

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical or Process Engineering with a P.Eng. designation in multiple provinces and/or states.

Experience

• Minimum five years of design engineering experience in the industry, preferably in the design-build sector.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Word and Excel, with strong computer skills.
• Practical yet creative problem-solving approach.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively in a team environment.

• High degree of accuracy and ability to manage multiple details under tight deadlines and pressure.

Travel/Transportation

• Travel required, including some extended stays.
