The Welding Technicians will be responsible for overseeing the company’s pipeline mobilization, testing, and various training activities for our specialized welding equipment. The main duties will include the following:
- Mobilizing and testing specialized welding equipment to ensure proper working order;
- Training and supervision of welders during procedure qualification tests and preparing associated process, procedure, and testing materials;
- Providing troubleshooting and guidance regarding welding issues during pipeline construction;
- Operating and adjusting equipment when moving from different pipe wall thickness;
- Providing supervision and training to junior welders to ensure welding activities are carried out without issue; and
- Performing other duties as assigned and consistent with the position.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of secondary school.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the trade.
- Some college or industry courses in welding.
- Knowledge of welding equipment used in pipeline construction and various welding activities.
- Experience using the M300 Automatic Welding Machine
- Experience with Rapid Metal Deposition (RMD) / Surface Tension Transfer (STT) Semi-Automatic systems for improving welding quality and productivity
- Experience with Cellulose, BVB, TIG and Low Hydrogen Welding process
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements (e.g. backing-up procedures, use of spotters, signage, incident reporting, required personal protective equipment, lifting heavy loads, etc.).
TRANSPORTATION / TRAVEL INFORMATION
- Must be willing to travel to project sites.
- Travel expenses will be paid by employer.

- Vacation pay at a rate of 6% of wages.
- If camp accommodation is unavailable, a Living Out Allowance of CAD$150.00 to CAD$225.00 per day will be provided (depending upon the project).

WORK HOURS
- 40 to 72 hours per week
- Monday to Saturday (6 days on, 1 day off)
