Diesel Heavy Duty Service Technician

Location: Abbotsford, BC

Salary: $37.00-$55.00 per hour DOE

Position: Full-time

Role & Responsibilities:

• Inspect and test mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions.
• Evaluate motor performance during road tests and assess automotive systems and components.
• Repair or replace parts and components within automotive systems as needed.
• Conduct precise adjustments to meet manufacturer's specifications.
• Estimate parts and labor costs accurately for services.
• Perform routine maintenance services on schedule.
• Provide guidance to customers on completed work and potential future repairs.
• Document problems and completed work in detailed reports.
• Collaborate with supervisors to review work orders and discuss project progress.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the service process.

Qualifications  

• Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification (Red Seal) required.
• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate preferred.
• Valid CVSE license and specialized license for working with alternative fuels.
• Valid driver's license and proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.

Skills & Aptitudes

• Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.

Tools & Equipment

• Ownership of essential tools and steel-toed safety boots.

Salary & Schedule:

• 8-hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday.
• Salary ranges from $37.00 to $55.00 per hour depending on experience.
