Safety Coordinator

Location: Columbus, TX

Base Pay: 23.00 per HOUR

Other Pay: 3% Bonus

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and implement OHS policies and programs 
• Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics 
• Prepare and conduct training on company and site-specific safety standards and procedures. 
• Train new/existing employees to standard work 
• Review existing policies and procedures 
• Adhere to all the rules and regulations 
• Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety 
• Assist in Conducting risk assessment 
• Enforce preventative measures 
• Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions 
• Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations 
• Assist with incident investigations and help Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes 
• Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees’ safety

Job Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail.
• Must be a proactive “self-starter” who can work well without supervision.

• Bilingual (English and /Spanish) 

Knowledge & Skills

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, exercise time management and possess good oral and written communication and reading skills.

Experience

• Prior experience in safety is required.

Education

• High school education preferred but not required. 

Certificates

• Able to satisfactorily complete an OSHA 10 course.
