Regional Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Coordinator

Location: Grande Prairie, AB

Primary Duties:

  1. Develop and Implement HSE Management System:Assist in creating and implementing a comprehensive corporate HSE management system.Collect and analyze statistical data, producing leading and lagging indicator trends.
  2. Inspections and Audits:Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work processes.Identify and assess potential hazards or risks.
  3. Promote Bsafe Culture:Collaborate with regional managers and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety.Ensure all employees receive proper training and education on health and safety practices.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities and client stakeholders.Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations.
  5. Incident Investigation and Reporting:Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions.
  6. COR Auditing and WCB Claims:Support the company’s annual COR auditing process and client audits.Coordinate active WCB claims and monitor the modified work program.
  7. Risk Assessments and Safety Plans:Provide guidance and support to regional teams in conducting risk assessments.Develop project safety plans and implement control measures.
  8. Reporting and Training:Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives.Conduct training sessions and workshops on various health and safety topics.

Education:

  • High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Certification in Health and Safety (NCSO, CRSP) is an asset.
  • CSTS, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid certifications.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of safety-related experience, with at least 3+ years as a health & safety coordinator.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Travel/Transportation

  • Ability to travel frequently within the G.P region and occasionally to other locations.
