Industrial Mechanic.

Location: Hamilton, ON.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Hours: 40 hours per week.

Pay: $37.00 - $39.00 per hour.

Schedule: 

• Various shifts including day, evening, night, and
• Potential overtime.

Job Description:

• Maintenance, inspection, and repair of components and systems in the Hot-Dip Galvanizing industry.
• Tasks include working on bearings, gears, clutches, couplings, drives, gearboxes, air compressors, pneumatic systems, burners, motors, PLCs, pumps, conveyor systems, and production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Identify and resolve issues and root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Conduct basic welding and machinist tasks.
• Support site safety programs and company policies.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
• Maintain control of plant tools, manuals, repair parts, and consumables.
• Research equipment manuals and requisition repair parts.
• Work from elevated areas using fall protection equipment.
• Highly motivated individual willing to work in a team-oriented environment.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role and/or industry.

Certificates & Licenses

• Millwright or Electrician trade designation is an asset.

Knowledge & Skills

• General understanding of overhead cranes, hydraulic lifting equipment, and furnace and heat exchangers.
• Welding experience.
• Multi-tasking and fast-paced team work abilities.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Positive and professional attitude under pressure.
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Education:

• College Diploma, University Degree, or Skilled Trade Certificate.
• Minimum High School Diploma combined with equivalent work experience, education, and relevant licenses/certificates in related trade disciplines.
