Environmental Health and Safety Technician

Location: Fresno, CA

Pay: (Up to) $21.50 

Position: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Support and implement programs that improve environmental and community sustainability
• Support sustainability projects, develop goals and timelines, report progress and deficiencies to colleagues and upper management
• Collects and reports company KPI’s and updates the company’s sustainability data base system at the frequency required
• Assist with monitoring safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements
• Assist by conducting inspections and risk assessments to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions
• Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events.
• Promotes EHS related activities
• Monitors workplace activities to promote compliance with applicable Environmental, Health & Safety regulations
• Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace risk involving injuries, illness, property damage and the environment
• Conducts required employee training on applicable EHS standards pertinent to employee and contractor job tasks
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Experience and Technical Knowledge:
• Some experience preferred such as internship
• Basic knowledge of environmental regulations, natural science, and resource management required
• Basic knowledge of CFR 1910/1929 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and possesses the ability to interpret them to front-line supervisors, employees, contractors, and visitors required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Willingness to conduct training and organize meetings
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
