We are looking to IMMEDIATELY hire technicians to support shop work based out of Kearl. These are FULL-TIME PERMANENT positions on a 14x14 & 12-hour continuous day/night shift rotation.

As the worlds largest Caterpillar dealer, we are looking for the BEST Heavy Duty Mechanics who are ready to build a long-term career with Finning. We set you up with DEALER GRADE TRAINING, and all the support and TOOLS you need to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of Caterpillar open pit mining equipment within Alberta’s oil sand

Job Description:

  • Trouble shooting equipment and systems and performing repairs
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS, VIMS and ET daily
  • Interface with Caterpillar, customers, product and sales support
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
  • Strong knowledge/experience of 797F C175 haul truck
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Dedication to safety. A safety leader to help drive a strong safety culture
  • Completion of all Finning S-level courses
  • Strong computer skillset including ET and VIMS
  • Preference for advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Tier 2/4 & C175 series engines experience
  • Experience in a mine or industrial setting is preferred

Note:

  • This position is located at D05 Kearl Facility on a 14x14 continuous day/night shift rotation
  • Successful candidate will be required to stay in camp, while on shift
  • Camp accommodation will be provided
  • Customer flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
