GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Technician

Location: Abbotsford, BC

Salary: $32.00-$35.00 per hour

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Perform GSE Inspections:Conduct regular visual inspections of GSE including scissor lifts, boom lifts, tugs, fuel trucks, dollies, scaffolding, forklifts, and hydraulic jacks.Identify maintenance needs during inspections.Document inspection results.Report findings to the Facilities Crew Leader.
2. Repair GSE:Remove defective or unsafe GSE from service.Disassemble, repair, or replace components as necessary.Weld or replace parts.Request and pick up required parts.Document repairs effectively.
3. Maintain Company Vehicles:Perform bi-weekly maintenance checks, including oil, water, brakes, lights, beacons, windshield, and tire pressure.Wash company vehicles at least once per month.Handle necessary repairs unless the vehicle is under factory warranty.Initiate insurance claims as needed.
4. Ensure Safety Compliance:Wear appropriate safety equipment(gloves, respirators, eye and ear protection) when handling hazardous materials.Inform coworkers about hazardous materials.Adhere to safety policies and procedures when operating equipment and machinery.Follow Our Client's health and safety policies and procedures, as well as Human Resources safety and security policies.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in automotive and commercial equipment maintenance, including brake inspection and repair.
• Over 5 years of experience in general mechanical work.
• Preferably, experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and/or Diesel technician.

Certificates & Licenses

• Certification in Automotive Mechanics and Welding; Forklift, Scissor Lift, and Boom Lift certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Exceptional communication skills, with fluency in both written and verbal English being mandatory.
• Proficient in various hand tools and possess general handyman skills.
• Strong multitasking abilities to manage and complete multiple assigned tasks on time.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical processes and procedures.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic, punctuality, and attendance record.
