APE Maintenance is seeking experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanics (Off Road) to
fill multiple positions in both within a shop and field-based environment.
This is a local position to Fort McMurray, flights are NOT provided - short term housing available.
Shift Schedule: 5X8 hour shifts Monday to Friday and or 6 days on, 6 days off 12-hour shift
Working on a client site, and or Town Shop, the candidate will be responsible for
maintaining a modern fleet of various equipment including but not limited to: Heavy Haul
Trucks, Graders, Dozers, and various other mine support equipment and will ensure repair
and preventative maintenance work is completed on schedule while complying with all
safety policies & procedures.
Working Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide technical diagnosis and perform maintenance on various makes and models of heavy to medium size mining equipment.
- Perform equipment maintenance according to OEM standards, procedures and practices set out by industry and APE Maintenance.
- Recording information related to maintenance repairs and work completed.
- Communicate updates to supervisor to ensure goals are met.
- Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately.
- Various other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- JM Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate (Off Road)
- Valid Driver's License/Clean Driver's Abstract
- Able to work independently and as part of a professional maintenance team
- A minimum of 4 years field-based experience is required with troubleshooting & repairing the following equipment: Ultra Class Haul Trucks: Komatsu/Liebherr, wiggle Wagons Skid Steers, D Class Dozers 7,8,9,10,11T Backhoe, Various Excavators 870,1200 Forklifts.
- Knowledge of site safety rules and regulations
Safety Training Prerequisites:
- CSTS 09/ OSSA or BSO / CSO Orientation
- Aerial Work Platform
- Basic Rigging & Overhead Crane
- Fall Protection
- WHMIS
- Pre-Access D&A Testing
