Reporting to the Welding Foreman, the chosen candidate will be responsible for:

• Assist journeyman welders and perform welding duties
• Operate welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment
• Operate drill presses and band saw
• Prep and finish material and projects for manufacturing
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
• Prepare jigs and set-ups for welding
• Troubleshoot production problems and take preventative or corrective action
• Recommend changes to improve quality and reduce costs
• General maintenance/clean-up of the shop and yard
• Painting and finishing of products
• Assembly of products
• Operating the plasma cutting table
• Operating the forklift to receive orders
• Frequent deliveries/pick-ups

Requirements:

• Registered as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentice with AIT
• Able to commute reliably to and from work
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
• Forklift certification (is an asset)
• Able to drive a truck with a trailer (is an asset)
• Must provide your own steel toe boots
• WHMIS and First Aid training (is an asset)

Shift: 8 hours/day, Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Licence/Certification:

• Class 5 Licence (required)
• First Aid Certification (preferred)
• WHMIS Certification (preferred)
