The Ekati mine hosts a dynamic working community of talented and hardworking individuals. Approximately 1,800 employees and contractors work at the Ekati site.
Typically, jobs you can find working at the Ekati site include (but are not limited to): Electricians, Millwrights, HD and Construction Mechanics, Plumbers, Machinists, Crane Operators, Carpenters, Heavy Equipment Operators, Labourers, Fuel and Lube Technicians, Warehouse Workers, Instrumentation Technicians, as well as management and advisory positions.
Additionally, the mine currently offer apprenticeships in the following disciplines: Electrical, Carpentry, Mobile Crane Operation, Millwrighting, Plumbing, Machining, Warehousing and Instrumentation. The hours of employment are twelve hours per day, two weeks on site, followed by two weeks off.
About Ekati Diamond Mine
Located in the Northwest Territories of Canada, this is expected to be a five year project. This project is based at a remote mine site approximately 300 kilometers north of Yellowknife, NT. As of January 31, 2017, the Ekati Mine is reported to contain 26.0 million carats of probable reserves in the Core Zone and 79.4 million carats of probable reserves in the Buffer Zone for a total of 105.4 million carats of total probable reserves (on a 100% basis).
Given the remote nature, All positions are fly-in, fly out, and accommodations are included for a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotational schedule
