Yard Spotter/Driver

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Shift: 2nd shift: 2 pm - 10 pm

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Position: Full-time

Duties:

• Drives company vehicle between sites moving material as instructed (tractor, shuttle, Dock Truck, Van, and/or Car may be required), obeying all local traffic and safety laws.
• Maintains FMCSA compliance at all times, including logs, paperwork, safety, and records. This also includes obtaining/maintaining DOT Hazmat endorsement.
• Timely loads and unloads freight as required using forklift and/or other material handling equipment.
• Protects vehicle contents from damage at all times and ensures all loads are appropriately labeled and documented correctly. Reports any damage or maintenance issues to the vehicles or loads immediately.
• Follows all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks.
• Fuels vehicles as needed.
• Works collaboratively with sending and receiving sites, making sure all business needs are met.
• Communicates challenges timely and effectively, bringing related improvement ideas to leadership.
• Maintains a neat and safe work environment and engages in the promotion of a safe work environment.
• Works overtime as required to meet business needs.

• Class A License required
• Current Commercial Driver’s License required for any vehicle greater than 26,000 pounds

Training

• Defensive driver training as required

Experience

• Four years related disciplines experience required
• Previous forklift experience (counterbalance) preferred; if none, ability to become certified required

Pre-employment

• DOT Physical including drug screen
• Pass MVR requirements
