Journeyperson Red Seal Welders needed!

8 Days on / 6 Days off schedule 10 HR/Day

Department: FRAC – Shop Mechanic

Reports To: MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Location: 9602 72 Ave, Clairmont, AB T8X 5B3, Canada

Salary Range: $72,800 - $104,000 Annual

Summary of position:

The welder cuts and joins metals and other materials in our Maintenance shop. Operates appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Strong emphasis on providing the foundation for strong infrastructure. Must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions.Must have great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metals and their properties is essential.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, preferred but not required
  • Previous welding experience preferred
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50+ lbs
  • Journeyman or Apprentice Year 3 or 4

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reads blueprints and drawings and takes or reads measurement to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determines appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Sets up components for welding according to specifications – cuts material with equipment to match measurements.
  • Welds components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools.
  • Inspects and repairs trailer inspection components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Proficient in welding best practices.
  • Performs compete welding and finishing operations for the repair of equipment.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Assists in housekeeping before leaving location.
  • Maintains cleanliness of assigned work area.
  • Monitors equipment functionality and reports maintenance needs.
  • Communicates any deficiencies to supervisor.
