What City of Medicine Hat is Hiring for:

Solid Waste Labourers

Duration: Up to 6 months

Location: Medicine Hat, AB

Pay: Competitive

Position: Full-time

Ideal Candidate:

  • Ability to follow established performance and productivity standards.
  • Familiarity with hazards and safe working practices.
  • Proficient in reading maps, learning city routes, and following directions.
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and a team player.

Education

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Vehicle Operator's License with a satisfactory driving record (6 demerits or less).
  • Possession of a Class 3 Driver's License with airbrake endorsement considered an asset.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to perform sustained heavy physical work.

Pre-employment

  • Drug check
  • Background screening
