What Cameco Corporation is Hiring for:

The Student, Metallurgy position resides in the technical services department and reports to the site metallurgist.  You will be responsible for carrying out improvement projects such as metallurgical testwork, process control improvements, and streamlining operational data collection analysis.  Your duties will include daily operational data analysis, metallurgical accounting, and continuously improving process operations and process controls. You will foster innovation within the operations and technical teams and communicate recommendations to improve operational performance. If you like working as part of a team where we look out for one another and collaborate to strive for excellence, then we may have a job for you.    

The successful candidate will work a term of approximately eight months (May 2023 to January 2023).

Requirements of the position:

  • You will be entering your third or fourth year as a university student in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, computer engineering,  or a related science.
  • Effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
  • Coachable and open to feedback

Assets:

  • Familiar with PI Asset Framework & PI Vision 
  • Experience with writing Python code
  • Experience with managing small projects 
  • Experience with time series data analysis and interpretation 

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North.

Interviews will take place in February/March 2023.  Students will be notified if they are selected for an interview.
