Stone Fabricator

Location: San Antonio, TX

Pay: $18-$22 per hour DOE

Schedule: 

• Monday - Friday
• 7: 00am 3: 30pm 
• 30 min lunch break

Essential Job Functions

- Inspect the stone for any defects and imperfections.

- Layout the stone and arrange the template of the pieces needed to be cut to ensure the best appearance of vein texture and color are being used.

- Cut the stone slab into the desired pieces using a bridge saw.

- Fabricate and polish the edges of the stone pieces.

- Perform light maintenance on equipment as needed.

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

- Knowledge and understanding of proper terms and vocabulary common to the construction field.

- Ability to quickly use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

- Be able to accurately take measurements and have the knowledge to use various scale conversions.

- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

- Assess and resolve minor problems.

- Commitment to adhere to our companies safety rules and guidelines by attending all required meetings and certification training.

- Knowledge of Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) standards.

- Knowledge of the fabrication process.

- Able to operate bridge saws, splitters, forklifts, and cranes.

- Ability to perform all types of edge work on stone.

- Knowledge of different measuring tools, power tools, and equipment utilized in the tile and stone industry.

- Ability to adapt to and accept constructive feedback and implement necessary corrections in a timely manner.

- Demonstrates attention to detail.

Education 

- High school diploma or GED (Preferred)

Experience

- Minimum of one (1) year experience in stone miter and fabrication.

- Bilingual (English/S panish) is a plus.

Pre-employment

- Completion of a background check and drug test.
