Shop Mechanic needed in Green Bay, WI! 1st Shift! $26.00-32.00/hr DOE

Skilled Shop Mechanic 

Location: Green Bay, WI

Pay: $26-32/hr and up

Position: Full time

Job Type: Contract to hire 

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am -3:30 pm.  

Responsibilities

• The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of equipment, engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical systems. Common equipment the Shop Mechanic will be working on include but are not limited to forklifts, skid loaders, scissors lifts, snorkel lifts, power buggies, tampers, pumps, trailers, and more.
• General Responsibilities of the Shop Mechanic role include:
• Repair and or complete routine maintenance construction equipment, vehicles, trailers, hand power tools or mechanical components according to the manufacture requirements
• Inspect equipment, engines, hydraulic systems, tires/brakes/wheel bearings, transmissions etc. and run basic diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. 
• Also, complete, and complete annual inspections on vehicles, trailers, scissors/snorkel lifts.
• Inspect, clean and repair construction power tools when they return from a construction project. Log in/out tools in company tool tracking system.
• Clean and apply lubricants to construction equipment and components, including replacing wheel bearings, brakes, tires, belts, hydraulic hoses, batteries, etc.
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and construction equipment
• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, i.e. hoses, wheel bearings, brake pads, tires, leaf springs, starters, touch up painting, annual inspections vehicles etc.)
• Keep logs of work and report on issues

Experience

• Proven experience as Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Experience working on and operating construction equipment/vehicles - skid steers, bobcats, snorkel lifts, all terrain forklifts, etc.

Education

• High school diploma is required; 
• Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus.

• Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components.
  
• Aptitude in using and or repairing various power hand tools and shop air and hand tools and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers).

• Must have a good driving record
