Shop Hands Needed in Grande Prairie, AB - Entry Level Position, Some Experienced Preferred

The Shop Hand will be a member of the Maintenance Department responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment in the maintenance shop. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Shop Hand will focus on the basic upkeep of the maintenance shop, assisting the Parts department and other maintenance staff.

• Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Calfrac’s procedures and regulations

• Provide assistance as needed to the Maintenance Department

• Provide assistance to the Parts Department

• Load and unload equipment and/or product

• Clean and assist with the maintenance of company vehicles

• Assist in general labour and cleanup in the maintenance shop and yard

• Operate the forklift when required

• Must attend all pre job meetings and attend safety meetings when required

• Flexible to work a variety of shifts (shift work, day shift)

• Follow and enforce safe work procedures, codes, and regulations

• Energetic self-starter, able to work in a dynamic environment

• Able to handle multiple tasks by prioritizing and maintaining a high attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

• Work and inspire others to work at high performance levels

• Able to work alone and willingness to work with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment, with reasonable instructions, training, and supervision

• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, squatting, bending and reaching

• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50lbs

• Basic mechanical aptitude

• Experience working in or an understanding of oilfield services

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent required
