Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Mississauga, ON

Job Description:

  • AECOM's Buildings + Places Architectural team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Transit and Municipal projects based in Markham, ON.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conceptual and detailed design for various buildings and facilities, especially Transit.
  • HVAC, Controls, Plumbing, and Fire Protection system design.
  • Conduct HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs.
  • Design drawing reviews and field investigations.
  • Ensure design compliance with codes and client standards.
  • Write/edit mechanical specifications.
  • Travel to construction sites for inspections and report preparation.
  • Participation in business development and proposal writing.

Education

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering + 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
  • Strong Consulting Industry background and Transit experience required.

Experience

  • Preferred: 15+ years of experience, familiarity with TTC and Metrolinx standards, in-depth knowledge of HVAC and hydronic systems, controls, design knowledge in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems, LEED/Net Zero design experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Well-organized, self-directed, excellent communication skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team.
