Seeking Equipment Operators in BC: Work In The Rockies - Up to $90,000/year, 4&4, 12Hr Shifts Rotations

Coal Mountain Mine is one of five coal mines in the Elk Valley and is currently the only mine under Care & Maintenance with the focus of maintaining the current infrastructure in and around the site while progressing with reclamation activities. In this role you will be responsible for operating several pieces of mobile heavy equipment and providing support to mine operations and reclamation. Teck provides all new employees with extensive internal training to ensure everyone is able to succeed in this position.

Base Earnings: $82,000 - $90,000 

Base earnings include the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.  

Responsibilities: 

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures 
• Operate various pieces of equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, dozers, excavators and graders on a 4x4 12-hour day shift rotation 
• Capability to operate in all weather conditions including rain, fog, and winter conditions 
• Perform additional tasks such as managing water pumps and supporting shop related duties 
• Perform repetitive tasks that could involve heavy lifting 
• Inspect equipment, such as tires, fluids, lights, brakes, to ensure equipment is fully functional and safe for operating 
• Communicate with other operators, and supervisors using communication devices such as two-way radios 
• Skills and ability to operate equipment in challenging terrain including steep slopes 

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma, General Education Development, or five years related work experience 
• Valid class 5 driver’s license, or equivalent, without learner’s restrictions 
• Previous experience operating several different pieces of equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators and graders is considered essential
