Mainline Excavator Operator – Water and Sewer

Location: Nutrien Redwater Fertilizer Plant, Redwater, AB

Job Type: Seasonal Full-Time

Work Conditions

• Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week
• Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Tools & Equipment

• CSA-approved steel-toed boots with 6” ankle support

Pre-employment

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Responsibilities:

• Work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade.
• Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade.
• Be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc., and ensure safe work procedures are followed during the lowering of materials into the excavation.
• Operate excavator in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
• Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Experience

• Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Mainline Excavator operator.
• Must have experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, roadway construction, and urban renewal projects.
