Regional HSEQ Field Coordinator

Location: Grand Prairie, AB
Job Type: Full time
Shift: 5 & 2
Start Date: ASAP

Primary Duties:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive corporate HSE management system.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data, produce leading and lagging indicator trends, and ensure accurate information collection.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and assess potential hazards or risks.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and site supervisors to promote a safety culture, ensuring proper training and education for all employees.
  • Maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities and client stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support annual COR auditing process and client audits.
  • Coordinate active WCB claims and monitor the modified work program.
  • Provide guidance and support to regional teams in conducting risk assessments, developing project safety plans, and implementing control measures.
  • Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on various health and safety topics.

Education

  • High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Health and Safety, NCSO, CRSP, or a safety designation is an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in safety or a related field, with at least 3+ years’ experience as a health & safety coordinator.
  • Proven experience as a health and safety professional with a focus on managing the company safety program and initiatives in a multi-site or regional capacity.

Knowledge & Skills

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), experience with SharePoint, and extensive Internet search capabilities.
  • CSTS, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S and federal health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to foster a culture of safety.
  • Proactive mindset to anticipate and address potential health and safety issues.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the G.P region and occasionally to other locations as needed.
