Production Laborer 

Location: Westwego, LA

Job Type: Full-Time 

Shift Available: 

• Rotating (7am to 3pm / 3pm to 11am / 11pm to 7am)

Principal Accountabilities:

• Perform tasks within barge unloading and vessel loading processes, involving manual labor and outdoor work
• Train and operate equipment such as skid steer tractor (bobcat), forklift, and sweeper
• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping and shoveling products and grain dust into mobile equipment
• Assist with duties in the maintenance department, including helper, fire watches, and confined space attendant
• Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with consideration for environmental impact
• Adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations
• Assist other plant personnel and perform other duties as requested by the production supervisor

Pre-employment

• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Age 18 or older

Qualifications:

• Forklift Certified

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to perform physical job duties with or without accommodation
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with personal protective equipment
• Ability to work in elevated areas
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Education

• High School diploma or GED Equivalent*

Experience

• Prior experience in production-related work
• Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
