Red Seal Journeyman Electrician

Location: Surrey, BC

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high quality, profitable installation while maintaining high worker morale and customer satisfaction. 
  • Thoroughly pre-plan and coordinate all aspects of the job with the project manager. 
  • Maintain an efficient and secure tool and material handling system. 
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ensure coaching and training opportunities are available and utilized. 
  • Maintain an accurate administration system and daily log. 
  • Work closely with foreman or project manager to pre-plan and prepare “task” drawings, etc. 
  • Responsible for assigned workers (crew sized to allow working full time on the tools). 
  • Maintain efficient and secure tool and material handling system, coordinate with foreman or project manager, if required. Communicate with site general foreman and other sub trades; refer extended communications to foreman or project manager. If performing a service role communication with client may be required. 
  • Provide adequate instructions and coaching to workers. 
  • Keep paperwork up to date as directed by foreman or superintendent and keep a daily logs

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledgeable in all practical and theoretical facets of the electrical construction trade.
  • Technically capable journeyman electrician 

    Certificates & Licences

    • Has a current T.Q., interprovincial standing or exemption (Red Seal). 

    Qualities

    • Expected to be technically capable in all aspects of the electrical trade, including familiarity with most types of building construction. 
    • Strong work ethic, willing to work with others.
    • Able to work with minimal supervision. 
    • Able to complete normal record keeping and job documentation. 
    • Willing to coach apprentices and helpers as required.
