All positions are available in Grande Prairie, AB and Red Deer, AB.

About the Driller position - Grande Prairie & Red Deer, AB

Qualifications:

  • H2S
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Loader Operator
  • Confined Space
  • Rig Tech 3
  • Fall Protection
  • Rig Rescue
  • Boiler Ticket
  • 1st Line and/or 2nd Line

Responsibilities:

The duties of a Driller include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead crew member in charge of Drill Crew
  • Know and adhere to all Predator procedures and practices, and ensure crew members are doing the same
  • Promote the Company’s Safety Program and ensure all employees, service personnel and visitors adhere to Predator safety standards and policies, as well as Government safety regulations
  • Report all incidents
  • Operate the drilling and hoisting equipment
  • Must become familiar with the BOP
  • Ensure that the crew is continually training in the optimum safe performance of their duties
  • Properly taking care of personnel protection and mechanical equipment by conducting on the job training
  • Ensure all paper work is completed correctly
  • Responsible to conduct safety drills
  • Help organize crews
  • Must maintain a close relationship with the Rig Manager and crew

About the Derrickhand position - Grande Prairie & Red Deer, AB

Work above the drill floor includes: watching and maintaining proper drilling fluid characteristics, the rate of fluid circulation, mud handling equipment and the preventative maintenance program.

  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Loader Operator
  • Confined Space
  • Rig Tech 2
  • Fall Protection
  • Rig Rescue

Responsibilities:

The duties of a Derrickhand include but are not limited to the following:

  • Know and adhere to all Predator policies, procedures and practices, and ensure crew members are doing the same
  • Learn and adhere to Government safety regulations
  • Execute and promote the Company’s Safety Program to all employees and set an example to fellow employees by adhering to all Safe Work Practices and Policies
  • Instigate, encourage and participate in weekly safety meetings, rig inspections and Hazard ID Program
  • Report ALL incidents
  • Responsible to condition the drilling fluid and maintain mud pumps
  • Ensures that preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment above the drill floor and all equipment associated with the drilling fluid system. Inspect shale shakers, mud agitators, hoses, connectors, trash pumps and suction line pulsation dampeners daily to ensure proper working order
  • Manage parts inventory

About the Motorhand position - Grande Prairie & Red Deer, AB

Minor repair work on equipment should be accomplished by the Motorhand.

Qualifications:

  • H2S
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Loader Operator
  • Confined Space

Responsibilities:

The duties of a Motorhand include but are not limited to the following:

  • Learn and be knowledgeable of and adhere to the Company’s Safety Policy, Procedures and Practices, as well as Government safety regulations
  • Support and promote the Company’s Safety Program to all employees.
  • Set an example to fellow employees by adhering to all Safe Work Practices and Policies
  • Instigate, encourage and participate in weekly safety meetings, rig inspections, the Safety Program and Hazard ID Program
  • Report ALL incidents
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment
  • Responsible to check the following:
    • Oil levels
    • Coolant levels
    • Oil leaks
    • All gauges
    • Check for noise and vibrations
    • Change oil when required

About the Floorhand position - Grande Prairie & Red Deer, AB

In addition to assisting the Derrickhand and Driller, the Floorhand also performs duties of an all-around worker on the drilling rig floor.

Qualifications:

  • H2S
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Loader Operator

Responsibilities:

The duties of a Floorhand include but are not limited to the following job requirements:

  • Learn and be knowledgeable of and adhere to the Company’s Safety Policy, procedures and practices as well as all Government safety regulations pertaining to the area and encourage others to do the same
  • Support and promote the Company Safety Program
  • Set an example to fellow crew members
  • Ensure the drill floor is kept clean and orderly
  • Ensure the Preventative Maintenance checklist is performed on all equipment
  • Inspect equipment such as tongs, pipe, ect. and ensure they are in proper working order
  • Inspect and grease kelly bushing, wirelines unit, etc.
  • Inspect and service drawworks
