What Adecco is Hiring for:

Full-time Piping Inspector (Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineer) to work at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. 

The ideal candidate will be local to Fort McMurray, or willing to relocate to the area. 

  • Shifts: Monday – Friday | 8:00am -5:00pm
  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be accountable to manage NDE piping inspection tasks for an assigned area, based on monthly planned work list.
  • Develop scope of inspection for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) of piping – scope of work packages for execution by NDE contractor.
  • Generate work notifications in SAP for use by planning/contractor resources.
  • Work with drafting support to identify and correct inspection sketches.
  • Review inspection data once complete – identifying areas of concern, escalating through leadership and working in conjunction with unit QA and Engineers on follow up inspection and repairs.
  • Assess piping condition based on inspection results to determine appropriate follow up inspection or expanded scope, or adjustment to next planned inspection date.
  • Update corporate database with inspection results.
  • Support estimating of piping inspection work for the Business Unit.
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Must be local to fort McMurray or willing to relocate.
  • Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical or Materials Engineer or technologist.
  • 2- 5 years of NDE technician with relevant piping work experience.
  • 2-5 years of Piping inspection experience is must
  • Experience in SAP required
  • Proficiency in MS office suits.
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
