What Strike Group is Hiring for:

Strike is looking for light equipment operator Operator with relevant experience in oil & gas construction/facility maintenance on a telehandler or skid steer (with attachment experience). Typical day to day work will be to load and unload material, move aggregate material, rig and transport material throughout site, work outside equipment as necessary supporting labour/trades crews.

Labourers assist skilled trades people and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites. 

PROJECT DETAILS/ LOCATION

  • Work site currently in BC but will be moving in northern AB
  • June 26th start
  • Project duration until December/January
  • $140/day LOA
  • 14 days on & 6 days off shift schedule

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in aligning pipes and performing related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction
  • Operate a telehandler to move and lift pipe spools, load trailers, and transport other miscellaneous material throughout the site
  • Assist other tradespeople with the completion of their duties when required
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed

EXPERIENCE

  • Pipeline and or construction experience is an asset
  • Must have skid steer/telehandler experience

KNOWLEGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Capable of working well on a team or individually
  • Capable of following directions that are spoken or given by hand signals
  • Detail oriented with a mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather
  • Must be capable of getting to the designated job site
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
