Truck/Trailer Mechanic Technician

Location: Portage, Indiana

Job Type: Full-time, 

Pay: Starting at $22 per hour

Hours: Year-round work with consistent hours

Schedule: 

• 1st Shift
• Monday-Friday
• 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preventative maintenance on trailers and commercial trucks
• HM183 periodic inspections and repairs
• Trailer repair duties including checking brakes, tires/wheels, air systems, suspension, electrical systems, and lights
• DOT inspections for trucks and trailers in accordance with 49 CFR

Experience/Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License or ID
• 3 years of verifiable experience
• Trailer HM183 inspection experience preferred
• Basic hand and air power tools
• Clean driving record for the past 3 years

Physical Requirements:

• May work above shoulder level with tools weighing 15lbs or less
• Work in confined spaces
• Must meet physical requirements of the position
• Ability to stand, walk, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, crawl, grasp, drag, lift, and carry items weighing 50lbs or less
