What Superior Skilled Trades is Hiring for:

Copper Nickel Welders 

Location: St. Petersburg, FL.

Duration: 1 month

Pay: $24 - $27 per hour (based upon experience)

Hours: Shifts will be 10-hour workdays, 50 - 70 hours a week

Start: ASAP

Duration: 1+ Month

Schedule: 

  • Workdays will be Monday- Friday 

  •  7:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
  • Possible Weekends

Job Details

  • Cooper Nickel Welding on a ship. 
  • The CuNi Welder must possess a strong understanding of welding principles, techniques, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality welds that meet industry standards.
  • Prepare workpieces by cleaning, cutting, and fitting copper-nickel components to be welded.
  • Utilize various welding techniques such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG) to join copper-nickel alloys.
  • Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) using different welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately plan and execute welding tasks according to project requirements.
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment, including selecting proper torches, electrodes, and settings.
  • Safely use hand tools and power tools to grind, clean, and prepare surfaces for welding

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience

Certificates & Licenses

  • Certification in relevant welding processes (TIG, MIG) and copper-nickel welding techniques.

Tools & Equipment

  • Must have welding tools
  • Must have PPE
  • Must have reliable transportation to the job site

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as ASME and AWS.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and crouch for long periods

Pre-employment

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
