Night Shift Welder Opportunity: Join Our Shovel Maintenance Team - $50.50/hr!

Hours: Night Shift

Start Date: Mid-January 2024

Pay: $50.50 per hour

Compensation/Benefits:

• Time and a half after 8 hours per day
• Travel allowance (varies per site)

Job Details:

• Various shifts and various rotations
• Nightshift
• 11.5 hours/day, start and end times vary
• Working both inside and outside in extreme weather conditions
• Working at heights
• Working within confined spaces

Responsibilities:

• Perform ongoing shovel maintenance, including supporting outages.
• Set-up and use copperheat to aid in the repair of cracks and fatigued metal as per provided procedures.
• Identify cracking and repair as per procedures.
• Gouging cracked/fatigued metal to remove defects for repair.
• Welding with SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.
• Work alongside clients' employees as well as other contractors in a group or individual setting.
• General fabrication of components as per drawings and/or instruction.

Work Conditions

• Work in outdoor/confined space settings regularly.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certified welder/interprovincial red seal certification.

• CSO Certification required.
• Fall Protection.
• Confined Space.
• Aerial Work Platform (AWP).

Experience

• Flux core and wire feed experience an asset.
  
• Experience with the set-up and use of copper heat is considered an asset.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience.
• Preference given to individuals with previous shovel and mine equipment experience.

• Must successfully complete site pre-access drug and alcohol testing and any other site-specific training required.
• A clean driver’s abstract.
