What Local Union 488 is Hiring for:

Seeking Journeyperson Steam fitters/Pipefitters (Alberta or Red Seal Equivalent)

United Association Local 488 has turnaround opportunities available immediately with a Journeyperson base rate of $60.25/hour which includes 10% holiday pay, and a total compensation package including pension and benefits of $70.71/hour.

  • Double time for overtime after 10 hours in a day, double time for all hours on Saturday, Sunday, and statutory holidays.
  • Nightshift work premium is an additional $3.50/hour.
  • Flights from Edmonton and Calgary available for some turnarounds, camp provided for all turnaround work in Fort McMurray
  • Live Out Allowance (LOA) provided for residents outside of local areas in Fort Saskatchewan and Edmonton regions.
  • Travel Assistance Protocol (TAP) available on a number of sites for out of province workers.
  • All journeypersons must have Alberta certification and/or Red Seal Trade certificate, or equivalent if from another province.
  • Safety training required ( must be Energy Safety Canada certified) :
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Fall Protection
  • Half Mask Fit Testing (respirator) – 3M 6000 series and North 7700 series
  • CSO/BSO
  • CSTS 2020
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform
