Maintenance Mechanic-1st

Location: Vernon, CA

Job Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire

Pay: $28.00 to $29.00 per hour

Schedule: 

  • Various shifts available 
  • Monday through Saturday 
  • 04:00 am to 01:30 pm
  • Weekend work required

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance according to schedule.
  • Troubleshoots any equipment malfunction; tests and evaluates the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose the cause of malfunction.
  • Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment. Fits bearings, shafts, attaches motors, and connects and aligns couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
  • Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Installs new equipment and performs checks following installation to ensure that all systems are in working order.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in comprehending schematics, hydraulics, and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints, welding, and fabricating skills.
  • Must be able to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, pullers, and jacks.
  • Must be able to perform advanced mechanical repairs.
  • Read schematics.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Auto-Cad a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs without direct supervision.
