Maintenance Electrician Needed in Vernon, CA: $26/hr - Night Shift

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance
• Troubleshoots electrical and maintenance issues
• Repairs and installs equipment as required, with regard to electrical wiring, fixtures and junction boxes, pneumatics, hydraulics
• Sources new technologies to adapt wo current equipment
• Maintains and upgrades current plant equipment
• Performs daily work orders as instructed
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and diagrams as required
• Communicate equipment problems or breakdown information to Chief Electrician/Maintenance Manager
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Completes required documentation of repair
• Maintains work area in a clean and safe conditions
• Complies with company, CAL/ OSHA safety policies and regulations
• Ensures assigned work tasks meet quality standards
• Promotes the development of quality improvements through the initiation of process improvements
• Uses hand tools

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• 3+ years electrician experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Proficient in MS Word, Auto-CAD, asset management software
• Valid CA driver's license
• Bilingual strongly preferred (fluent English and Spanish)
• Able to write routine maintenance reports and be able to verbally communicate instructions to others
• Possess good problem solving skills
• Performs basic math skills, including converting metric into standard measures
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and computers
• Motor controls
• Wire sizing and termination
• Electronic Assembly processes
