Industrial Electrician

Location: Mason City, IA

Pay: $30/hour

Job Type: Temp-to-Perm

Overtime: Available

Per Diem: $100/day for travelers (7 days)

Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Mon-Fri)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Long Term (6+ Months - Temp to Perm)

Job Description:

• Test and diagnose electrical systems up to 480 volts AC.
• Install wiring and conduit for machinery and equipment up to 480VAC.
• Install, troubleshoot, and control circuitry, relays, and senders.
• Discuss operation variations with supervisors or other electrical and maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components of machinery, such as relays, motors, switches, printed circuit boards, and position sensing devices.
• Troubleshoot and repair variable speed drives, process analyzers, and measuring equipment.
• Plan layout of wiring and system installation within the facility.
• Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures and diagnose problems. Update prints to reflect field changes.
• Use standard hand tools, instruments, and power tools as required.
• Follow oral or written instructions and work assignments. Complete checklists and work orders as required. Maintain records and logs of preventive electrical maintenance activities.
• Maintain general cleanliness of work areas. Maintain all tools and equipment used on the job in good working order.
• Participate in the training of apprentices and new employees.
• Follow plant and OSHA Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Maintain an awareness of plant environmental standards. Take corrective action to address minor problems or report compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution.
• Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC or Transportation Workers Identification Card.

Experience

• 6+ years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with wire pulling, bending, and running EMT conduit.
• Ability to terminate and troubleshoot.
• Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and working outside in a hot/humid environment.

Tools & Equipment

• Must have PPE including steel toe work boots, hard hat, gloves, high visibility vest, and protective eyeglasses.
• Must have standard electrical hand tools.
• Able to obtain TWIC badge.

Pre-employment

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
• Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC or Transportation Workers Identification Card.
• Must be able to pass a Background Check.
