What FortisBC is Hiring for:

Journeyman Millwright

Location: Castlegar, BC 

Job Type: Full-Time Temporary 

Pay: $49.37 Hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Execute proper construction, installation, adjustments, alignments, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and equipment.
  • Assist in training new employees, apprentices, and those in lower classifications.
  • Perform duties typically carried out by a lower classification employee.

Qualifications

  • Holder of a Canadian Interprovincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate or a Millwright Trades Qualification Certificate.*

Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity and experience with electric utility’s mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, equipment, apparatus, and protective devices, including clearance and isolation procedures.

On-Call/Standby Requirements: 

  • This role entails on-call/standby obligations based on operational needs.

Residency Requirements: 

  • The successful candidate must adhere to the residency requirements of this position.

Overtime Requirements: 

  • This role may have overtime requirements based on operational needs.

Travel Requirements: 

  • There might be travel requirements based on operational needs.
