What City Of Edmonton is Hiring for:

Qualifications

  • Completion of the 10th school grade
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the maintenance of bridge structures
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labour for extended periods of time under various weather conditions
  • Ability to detect minor defects in equipment used
  • Knowledge of the daily maintenance required on the equipment
  • Good knowledge of the methods and practices used in operating and caring for equipment
  • Knowledge of the PARS Operating Procedures and SOP’s
  • Emergency First Aid Certificate
  • Physical capable of performing the duties assigned to the position class
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Ability to work alone, unsupervised and meet goals and objections based on understanding of larger dynamics
  • Adaptable to changing priorities, whether because of managerial direction or weather dependency
  • Ability to work and operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to use computers, tablets, etc for recording information associated with work
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
  • Successful candidates will be fit for a respirator, and compliance with the City of Edmonton's Code of Practice for Respiratory Protective Equipment, including medical monitoring, is a requirement of this position
  • Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this position
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
