Pipefitters 

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Job Status: Full-Time

Pay: Competitive

Project Summary: 

CBR Cogen project, a large-scale construction endeavor replacing three coke-fired boilers with two 400 MegaWatt cogen units near Fort McMurray at Suncor Base Plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in functional operation of piping system components.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble valves and fittings.
  • Conduct bolt-up, rigging, and hydro testing activities.
  • Assemble and install piping sections per blueprints and job specifications.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment, including coordination with pipefitters and welders.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, cutting openings, and securing pipes in challenging areas.
  • Utilize testing equipment to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter certification or registered 4th Year Pipefitter Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • OSSA Regional with CSTS, BSO, or CSO certification.
  • Fall Protection and Confined Space training (asset).

Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience on industrial construction projects (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet safety requirements and adhere to applicable safety policies.

Schedule

  • 14 days on / 7 days off schedule
  • 10 hours per day.
