What you get to do:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
  • Make detailed sketches and field decisions for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Select type and size of pipe required
  • Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure in position
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipe, valves and fittings required
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks, hydro and pneumatic
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings
  • Troubleshoot and repair reported problems
  • Remove and replace worn components
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools such as grinders, drills, torches, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Follow Phoenix Industrial and Client policies and procedures
  • Complete daily paperwork
  • Provide guidance, direction and supervision to apprentices
  • General maintenance work
  • Operate radios and other communication equipment
  • Contribute to toolbox meetings
  • Adheres to Phoenix Industrial and Client policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular worksite inspections to monitor workmanship and safety compliance
  • Managing and performing general housekeeping and daily clean-up of work area
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture

Requirements:

  • Current safety tickets including CSTS, CSO, WHMIS, EWP, Fall Pro, and H2S Alive
  • Successfully complete a pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Journeyman or Red Seal Certification
  • Physically capable of performing all tasks required as an Instrumentation Technician
  • Invested in a safety-oriented work environment
