What FortisBC is Hiring for:

Journeyman Millwright

Location: South Slocan, BC, CA

Job Status: Full-Time Temporary
Salary: $49.37 Hourly
Workplace Flexibility: No
Temp Duration: Approx. 12 Months

Responsibilities

  • Carry out proper construction, installation, adjustments, alignments, repairs and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment.
  • Assist in training new employees, apprentices and employees in lower classifications.
  • Perform duties normally carried out by a lower classification employee.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Holder of a Canadian Interprovincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate or a Millwright Trades Qualification Certificate.

Experience

  • In addition, be familiar with and experienced in electric utility’s mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, equipment, apparatus and protective devices and their clearance and isolation procedures.

Work Conditions

  • This role has the opportunity to work a compressed work week as per Letter of Understanding #9, which will be comprised of 37.5 hours within a 4 day work week. 

On-Call/Standby

  • Based on operational needs. 

Residency

  • The successful candidate must adhere to the residency requirements of this position.

Overtime

  • This role may have overtime requirements based on operational needs.

Travel/Transportation

  • This role may have travel requirements based on operational needs.
