Journeyman Electricians Wanted in Fort McMurray, AB: $62.00/hr, Full-Time + OT

Graf Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled electrician with a background in shovel operation, high voltage systems, and mining. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and productivity. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, expertise in operating shovels, and familiarity with high voltage applications in a mining environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on shovel equipment, ensuring optimal performance,and minimizing downtime.
• Operate and maintain shovels, always adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Install, inspect, and repair high voltage systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions, using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and tests on electrical systems and components.
• Collaborate with other electricians and specialists to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date maintenance and repair records.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an electrician in a mining or heavy equipment industry, with a focus on shovel operation and high voltage systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining shovels, with a focus on electrical systems.
• Knowledge of high voltage systems and applications, along with the ability to install, inspect, and repair them.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work in various shifts and adapt to changing work conditions.
• Valid electrical license or certification.
