Journeyman Carpenters in Alberta: $375/day to $475/day, Fly In - Fly Out, 3 weeks in 3 weeks out, Paid Travel
What Matrix Camps & Logistics is Hiring for:
We are currently seeking Journeymen/Red Seal Carpenters for our various remote Canadian project locations!
Job Requirements:
You are team oriented, motivated, and have a high attention for details, accuracy and can prioritize tasks. You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary responsibilities in a timely manner independently. This position reports to the Camp Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, erect walls and roof systems
- Frame and finish exterior walls, roofs, interior walls, build stairs, decks, etc.
- Erect and build scaffolding
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
- Perform labour intensive duties
- Support camp lead on additional duties outside of your labour position when needed.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
- Work in a team environment or independently.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years carpentry experience working in a remote camp setting.
- Journeyman/Red Seal Certification or relative working experience in the trade.
- Knowledge of provincial building codes.
- Knowledge of weather haven structure considered an asset.
- Hand and finger dexterity for reaching, handling and feeling while working
- Hardworking and able to readily accept and apply direction from a supervisor
- Ability to work at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds and decks
- Knowledge in trade related math and basic survey layout
- Be in good health and physically lift with the ability to life a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Valid Drivers License preferred (Class 1 or heavy haul endorsement an asset)
- Standard First Aid Certification.
- WHIMS Certification.
- Previous experience working in remote camp setting.
- Proficient in all aspects of plumbing repair and replacement.
- Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 12 hour shift.
