Engineering Technologist III

Location: Edmonton, AB

Number of Openings (up to): 1 - Permanent Full-time

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Salary: $45.846 - $57.931 (Hourly)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and support the development and negotiations for agreements related to right-of-way consent and access.
2. Coordinate Utility Line Assignment (ULA) engineering drawing submission requirements for Site Specific Agreements.
3. Provide technical expertise and advice on practices, policies, and principles associated with third party use of road rights of way.
4. Negotiate, prepare, and administer Rights of Way Consent and Access Agreement (RCAA) with private companies on behalf of the City.
5. Collaborate with other City Departments to ensure that policies, standards, or guidelines accurately reflect Regulated Road Use technical and regulatory requirements.

Education

• Completion of a two-year course, Degree, or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) with A.S.E.T.

• Coursework and/or training in Project Management would be an asset.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a related field, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity.

Knowledge & Skills

• Land Development, Utility Installation, or Transportation management experience would be an asset.
  
• Strong technical experience, innovative thinking, and a solid understanding of legislative and technical standards impacting development on road right of way.
