What SaskPower is Hiring for:
Journeyed Trade, Powerline Technician (Apprentice)
Location: Various throughout Saskatchewan
Type: Permanent Full-Time
Pay: $36/Hour DOE
Job Details
- Learn to construct, repair, and maintain power pole lines and underground cable systems
- Learn basic climbing skills, safety procedures, tool/material use, and operation of “Powered Mobile Equipment” before moving on to more complex technical skills and challenging assignments
- Work outside in all types of weather – rain or shine
- Work at various heights
- Handle large, bulky, and often heavy materials or equipment
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Required Certifications
- Entrance requirements in accordance with the Provincial Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Standards
- All Candidates MUST refer to and be eligible to meet the Saskatchewan equivalent Entrance Requirements for Apprenticeship Training as per the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission
- Assessments, upgrades, and/or equivalencies may be required; please refer to the SATCC or IQAS for further details
Work Conditions
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position
- Must be able to work in all types of weather
Travel/Transportation
- Must be willing to relocate anywhere in the province
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to cooperate and deal tactfully with others
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Pre-employment
- Complete mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
