What City Of Edmonton is Hiring for:
Materials Technical Assistant
Location: Engineering Services Building, 11004 190 Street NW, Edmonton, T5S 0G9
Pay: Competitive

Key Responsibilities:
- Sample and test asphalt, soils, concrete, gravel, and related materials following industry standards.
- Inspect asphalt and concrete plants producing materials for City of Edmonton projects.
- Perform field coring on asphalt mixes for thickness and compaction determination.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on lab and field equipment.
- Operate field and laboratory test equipment.
- Record and report test results accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the City's Environmental Management System.
Education
- Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by courses in Civil or Materials Technology
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of construction materials testing laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse contexts.
- Proficient in mathematical calculations and accurate data recording.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in various field conditions.
- Basic computer skills, including Google Workspace.
Tools & Equipment
- Compliance with safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license.
