Industrial Electrician

Job Type: Full Time; Temp to Hire
Location: Summerville, SC 29483
Starting Pay: $26.22/hr [paid weekly]

Work Schedule:

• Day shift for the first few weeks, then rotating shifts (changing from days to nights) every other week.Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PMNight Shift: 4:00 PM – 3:00 AMBoth shifts are Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturday or Sunday day shifts as needed

PPE Required:

• Steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, work gloves, and earplugs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely perform electrical service, installations, repair work, and improvement projects throughout the jobsite.
• Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, meters, regulators, voltage controls, motor starters, etc.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested for energy isolation.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to locate the cause of a breakdown and make necessary repairs.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Read, write, and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders, recording work done, parts used, and time taken.
• Effectively manage and plan work to accomplish job tasks with minimal direct supervision.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in manufacturing or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in the wood products manufacturing industry is preferred.

Work Conditions

• Ability to work from extended elevations using established safety procedures.
• Proficiency with tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision instruments and testing devices.
• Effective communication and training skills.
• Able to work in non-climate-controlled buildings and environments.
• Flexibility in schedules, including weekends, holidays, and call-in duties.
• Must have own reliable transportation.
