What Brown and Root Industrial Services is Hiring for:

Specialized Welder  

Location: St. James, LA
Pay: DOE
Position: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Selecting materials and equipment according to specifications
  • Planning layouts, assembly, and welding
  • Using various welding processes
  • Laying out, aligning, and fitting components together
  • Welding components using arc and arc gas equipment
  • Examining welds for quality
  • Performing minor maintenance and cleaning activities
  • Assisting other mechanics as needed

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Certificates & Licenses

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid Electricians License

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: 50%
  • Walking: 20%
  • Sitting: 30%
  • Lifting: 35 lbs
  • Carrying: 35 lbs
  • Climbing: Occasionally
  • Balancing: Occasionally
  • Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling: Occasionally
  • Reaching, Handling, Fingering: Constantly

Knowledge & Skills

  • Previous experience in the field or related area
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions
  • Extensive knowledge of welding processes and equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Proficient in the use of welding tools and equipment
