Field Service Mechanic Crew Chief

Location: St. Rose, LA 70087, USA

Employment Type: Regular Full Time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 BOE (Based on Experience)

Shift: 

  • Day Shift
  • Monday-Friday 
  • 40 hrs + OT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads and serves as the technical expert for an assigned crew.
  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Service customer support.
  • Provides technical and mechanical services support to all internal and external customers in various settings such as workshops, compressor stations, process plants, etc.
  • Thorough testing of equipment before release for operational work.
  • Supervises quality control processes to track, maintain, and improve customer service.
  • Ensures safety compliance and follows safety guidelines.
  • Plans, implements, and manages work assignments for the crew.
  • Travels 200-300 days per year, working 2-14 weeks at a time.
  • Works extended hours, including weekends/holidays, up to 10-14 hours per day.
  • Ascends/descends ladders, moves boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, and works in outdoor weather conditions.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Reciprocating Compression.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Meets all sublevel (FST I, II, III & IV) requirements.
  • Safety-focused, service-oriented, business-focused, and a self-starter.
  • Dependable with the ability to multitask successfully.
  • Mature, with the ability to take and provide direction.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Associates Degree with a technical concentration (Bachelor’s Degree recommended) or equivalent work experience.
  • Mastery of Engine Balancing, Web Deflection/Alignment, and Product Knowledge.
  • Advanced leadership skills and computer skills (Word & Excel).
  • Clear, concise, and accurate service reporting is required.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in a technical certificate program.
  • Technical training in the oil and gas industry or associated industry.
  • Completion of all Reciprocating Compression Systems product training.
